Areas of Expertise

My areas of expertise include copywriting, communications, editing, travel journalism and ghostwriting.

Points of Difference

1) As well as a copywriter, I’m also a travel journalist and widely published in local, national and international magazines, newspapers, blogs and books. (You might enjoy my Fluffy Towel Travel blog www.fluffytowel.com) This experience offers me a unique perspective on what readers want and need, and I approach each project with the intention of writing for the people who will read those words. Essentially, I’m writing for the clients of my clients. 2) I have contributed to over a dozen books in a variety of capacities, ranging from writing corporate coffee table books to helping novice writers polish their memoirs into a publishable standard. 3) As a sole trader, I learned early on about the importance of diversifying. I started my writing career as a travel journalist, combining my passion for writing and travel, and discovered that those skills could be applied to other industries. Diversify or die has always been my motto and has proven to be successful, particularly during economic fluctuations. 4) In a former life, I worked as a librarian. Initially, it was my love of books that inspired this career path, but interestingly, it didn’t lead to a traditional librarian role but rather to specialised librarian roles within the mining industry. The attention to detail and organisational skills required to be a librarian seamlessly transferred to a career as a professional writer and business owner. 5) I have always found that bringing stories to life that make an impact are the most inspiring to write on a professional and personal level.
